Global Friendship Photo Show and Tell

In connection with the August-September exhibit in the Old Town Library Art Gallery this special program will celebrate global community and friendship across distance and culture through stories and pictures. Join the artist behind the exhibit: Sodade- Memories of Cape Verde, Melissa Benton, a returned Peace Corps volunteer, as she partners with other local returned volunteers to showcase experiences of global friendship and invites you to share your own memories and stories through image and conversation.  

Melissa and community members who have served in the Peace Corps will kick things off with their own pictures and stories from their international experiences and then the floor will be open for the rest of the community in attendance to show and tell! Please bring a picture- as either a physical image or an image accessible on a mobile device- and a story from your own experiences building friendships and finding community during travel, in other countries and cultures, and across differences and distances. Any types of travel stories or connections to place and people are welcome- the emphasis of this program is on celebrating global care, connection, and community!
