Come join our sit-and-stitch! Do you have some knitting or crochet projects you are working on, or a cross-stitch sampler? Are you embroidering, sewing, beading, or creating friendship bracelets? If you want to work on your project and enjoy the company of other crafters while you are at it, come join us at Council Tree Library!

This event is drop-in and BYOP (bring-your-own-project), though we will have some basic art supplies available too. An experienced knitter is on hand for questions. Hot tea is provided.

School's out and Awareness is In this spring break! Local organization, OtterCares will partner with Poudre Libraries for a Project Heart event where community members of all ages will come together to help make care packages for a local non-profit.

Come 'n' Go Trash Art with the Garbage Garage

CAD for Kids: 3D Printing Workshop

Turn your awesome ideas into reality with the magic of CAD (computer aided design) and 3D printing! In this hands-on workshop, we will learn about the basics of Tinkercad, a free online CAD program, and use it to design our very own objects. Afterwards, we will submit our creations to the Old Town Library's 3D printer to be printed at a discount!

For kids ages 9-13 - no previous experience with CAD or 3D modeling necessary.

Information on creating a Tinkercad account for your child will be sent via email after you register.

Dramatime: The Mitten

Virtual Reality Showcase

Curious about VR and how it works? Explore new immersive worlds using the library's VR sets. Choose a favorite virtual experience: create custom artwork, experience a supernova, dance with a robot, swim with sharks, or relax and immerse yourself in a nature landscape. Library staff and volunteers will be here to guide you through your first VR steps. Snacks and refreshments provided. Registration recommended; walk-ins accepted if time allows. For ages 10+.

Restorative Reading for kids

Restorative Reading combines books with learning skills and behaviors that emphasize repairing harm, taking responsibility, healing, friendship and empathy. Volunteers and staff from Fort Collins Conflict Transformation Works will lead participants through an interactive read-aloud followed by a craft or activity.  Children's books can provides age-appropriate ways to talk about empathy, offers strategies to help repair harm and highlight the impact of kindness and inclusion.  For kids ages 4-10 and accompanying adults.  

Presented in partnership with City of Fort Collins: Conflict Transformation Works.

Drop-in SpeakOut! Writing Workshop

CSU's SpeakOut! program is hosting a drop-in workshop that is open to new and experienced writers who would like to create and share stories, experiences, and ideas through writing. Poems, life stories, fiction, drama, and lyrics are all welcome.  Prompts, inspiration, and writing materials will be provided.

  • March 26: Portraits

This program will be held on the puzzle table in the open "Treehouse"/ Art Gallery area on Old Town Library's second floor. This workshop will be facilitated by Tobi Jacobi and Mary Ellen Sanger, directors of the Community Literacy Center in the CSU English Department.

TAC212 Book Club

Looking for a teen centered space to talk about books? Welcome to the TAC212 Book Club! Hang out at one of the coolest locations exclusively for teens and discuss books chosen by your peers. We meet once a month on the 3rd Thursday to discuss books selected by club members from a variety of genres. We read one book every two months, so one meeting will discuss the first half of the book and the next meeting will discuss the whole book. Feel free to discuss other books as well! Welcome to the Northern Colorado Youth Leadership and Development drop-in group, hosted by Rocky Mountain Equality and Poudre Libraries. Our groups are spaces where everyone can feel safe. Teens can meet other teens, make friends, build community, and connect with trained facilitators who are there to support them and offer resources. Hybrid & in-person options available. 

This is a group for all LGBTQIA+ youth and allies. Intended for ages 13-18. 

Bring your own thing to bedazzle! Whether it's a book, a knickknack, an art piece, or a soda can, you bring the object and we'll provide the bedazzles!

Fort Collins Safe Zone Training

The Fort Collins Safe Zone Collective is a community-led group with the goal of reducing barriers and bias toward the LGBTQIA+ community through providing accessible education and training to Northern Colorado. Fort Collins Safe Zone training aims to increase knowledge of resources available to LGBTQIA+ people and their support systems, and to create a network of action-oriented allies and advocates across Northern Colorado. 

These are a great fit for anyone who is interested in growing their skills and knowledge to support the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly those who are parents/family members, community leaders, and/or working in education or helping professions.
