This fall Old Town Library is excited to host a special lecture series that will explore the vibrant continent of Africa through the work and research of Colorado State University faculty. Please join us for talks by Dr. David Riep, Dr. George Wittemyer, and Dr. Rebekah Kading that will dive into nature, environment, sustainability, science, arts, culture, and identity in different countries and amongst various peoples in Africa.
The second talk of the series, Exploring the Elephant Mind, by Professor George Wittemyer, will take us through some of the tantalizing insights we have made on elephant cognition and behavior in recent years.
Professor Wittemyer has been studying wild African elephants for the past three decades, attempting to gain insight to how their societies are structured, what they communicated, and how they perceived the world they share with us.
*The first lecture in this series will occur on September 30th from 5:30pm-6:30pm with Dr. David Riep, and the third lecture will be on November 3rd from 5:30pm-6:30pm with Dr. Rebekah Kading- please refer to those dates on the calendar for more info about the topics of those talks.
