This fall Old Town Library is excited to host a special lecture series that will explore the vibrant continent of Africa through the work and research of Colorado State University faculty. Please join us for talks by Dr. David Riep, Dr. George Wittemyer, and Dr. Rebekah Kading that will dive into nature, environment, sustainability, science, arts, culture, and identity in different countries and amongst various peoples in Africa.

The first talk of the series, The Image of Health: Sustaining social, cultural, and spiritual vitality through art and aesthetics in South Africa, by Dr. David Riep, professor of Art History at CSU, will share how Art History can be used to address global challenges of equity, access, and inclusion, and how it can strengthen social cohesion. This presentation will highlight how a liberal arts education can prepare us to impact communities - both local and global - by sharing his academic journey on the African continent and his work in community-engaged projects in southern Africa.
