Program Description

Event Details

Join your library and community to celebrate your freedom to read! This event will take place after-hours* at Old Town Library and will feature: 

  • The ABCs of Book Banning, an award-winning documentary about how communities pushed back against book bans,
  • Community member read-aloud of frequently challenged and misquoted books (yes, you can jump in to read too!),
  • Games and prizes! "Guess why this was banned?", "Spot the Misinformation", and banned books trivia,
  • New information about national, state and local laws and policies that uphold your freedom to read,
  • Crafting! Snacks! And more! 

*Doors will be open from 6:00pm-6:15pm. Attendees can leave at any time, but cannot re-enter. Registration required.

This event is co-sponsored by Front Range Community College and Poudre Libraries. Poudre Libraries is hosting multiple Banned Books Week events and displays during September 2024. Our goal is to heighten community awareness about the library's role in upholding intellectual freedom through engaging and dynamic learning opportunities.
