Program Description

Event Details

Let's keep our neighbors warm in this cold weather! Every year, CSU partners with The Homeward Alliance to collect donated cold weather items as part of their Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. This year, we want to donate handmade crocheted hats. We will provide the materials; you just need to provide your time! All items will be donated to The Homeward Alliance and distributed to unhoused members of our community.

To complete the hat project, you must already be comfortable with the following stitches:

  • Chain
  • Slip Stitch
  • Single Crochet OR Half Double Crochet

If you are planning on bringing children, they are more than welcome! They must be comfortable with the above crochet stitches.

If you would like to come, but need to work on your crochet skills, check out Creativebug. This service is free with your library card and offers introductory crochet classes.
