We’re hitting the right notes! Enjoy the diverse sounds of local and nationally recognized musicians. Musical acts range from honky-tonk funk to chamber choirs.  

Classical guitarist and vocalist Larry Almeida presents a recital of American songs and solo works spanning the 19th through 21st centuries. Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, this program features music by Stephen Foster, Harold Arlen, and others, along with Colorado premieres of guitar solos by Larry Alan Smith, Ronald Pearl, and James Ried. 

Artist Bio:
Larry Almeida has performed throughout the United States, Canada, and Germany as a solo guitarist and vocalist. He has served on the guitar faculties of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied with renowned teachers Michael Lorimer and Aaron Shearer, with additional master classes from José Tomás, Oscar Ghiglia, Abel Carlevaro, and Leo Brouwer. Almeida holds degrees in guitar performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco State University.

In this series of library programs, commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the 150th anniversary of Colorado's entrance into the Union. Reflect upon how the past and present intertwine, and celebrate the many people who have called this area home.
