Program Description
Event Details
History’s most fascinating figures come to life through interactive performances by actors and historical interpreters. Journey back in time and experience their stories told in their own words.
In 2026, we welcome Mary Fields, known as “Stagecoach Mary”, the first African American woman to serve as a star route carrier for the U.S. mail service. As a settler on the frontier, she offers a firsthand account of the lives and contributions of African Americans in the Wild West.
Portrayed by Becky Stone, Mary Fields’ story illuminates the critical roles African Americans played in shaping the American West and deepens our understanding of Colorado’s place in that history.
