Old Town Library Art Gallery: Sodade- Memories of Cabo Verde, Photographs by Melissa Benton

During the months of August and September the Old Town Library Art Gallery is excited to display this inspiring exhibit by returned Peace Corps volunteer and Artist Melissa Benton. Sodade- Memories of Cabo Verde is a collection of photographs taken on the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde that celebrate the beauty of global friendship and sense of place. Melissa created this collection of photographs during her time as a Peace Corps volunteer living in Cape Verde, West Africa, having been awestruck by the beauty of the natural landscape and inspired by beloved neighbors who shared their harvest and hearts in the intimacy of their homes.

And join us to meet Melissa and celebrate this exhibit with refreshments during an open reception on August 14th from 5:30pm-6:30pm, and for a special connected program, Global Friendship Photo Show and Tell, on September 25th from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
