Book ClubsProgram Description
Event Details
Registration opens today for March 7th event. Our March book selection is Ninth Ward by Jewell Parker Rhodes, in honor of the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
This book club focuses on stories of girlhood in children's literature and is designed for tweens in grades 4-6 and an adult, female-identifying mentor (mom, grandmother, aunt, family friend). This book club provides the opportunity to bond with an adult mentor while also making new friends, discussing the book, and trying hands-on activities.
We welcome all girls, girl-identifying individuals, and non-binary and gender non-conforming people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of girls.
Registration required as a pair. After registering, check your email for instructions to claim your free copy of the book.
