Event Details
Join us for an evening of crafting and community at Queer & Crafty Movie Night. Bring your own art or craft project to work on while we watch Rafiki, a vibrant and heartfelt coming-of-age story about two young women in Nairobi who fall in love despite the pressures of family and politics. With its bold colors and tender storytelling, Rafiki celebrates love, courage, and self-expression. Rafiki was banned in Kenya, where homosexuality is illegal.
Whether you’re embroidering, painting, journaling, or just experimenting with something new, all crafts are welcome. Don’t have a project? No problem! We’ll have a simple craft available so everyone can get creative. This program is designed for adults and aims to be a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ folks and allies to relax, make art, and experience powerful queer storytelling on screen.
This program is for adults only. Rafiki is unrated by the MPAA, however it is rated PG (or its equivalent) in other countries.
Supplies provided while they last.
