Program Description

Event Details

Learn about Ukrainian Christmas traditions in this lecture by Tetiana Sherman, a Ukrainian chef, culinary instructor, and speaker with the Colorado Refugee Speakers Bureau. There will be a special tasting of Kutya, a wheat berry pudding prepared only once a year at Christmas.

After the lecture, stick around to browse Ukrainian books from the library’s collection and Tetiana's personal display of embroidered rushnyky (ritual cloths) and Petrikivsiy art. Shop from local Ukrainian vendors at a special Christmas market hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church. To add to the experience, sign up to take a Ukrainian cooking class from 1-4 pm via this calendar listing

This is a non-religious gathering that is open to people of all backgrounds and beliefs.
